it seems Brad's tan comes from a tanning place, lol.

I know someone who was at one when he came in. What do you all think of tanning places in general and do you think one thing for girls and another for guys?

I used to tan in beds A LOT. But I smartened up and now I use a really good self tanner, but I will still tan my body outside in the summer, I'm just careful to always have my face protected. I have seen first hand the affects of sun damage, and it's not pretty. Not to mention the cancer risk... so I'd say I'm definitely against it lol.

As for guys tanning in beds, it seems to have gotten really popular lately. They have tanning beds at my gym and I'd say it's at least 80% men who use them from what I can tell. I kind of like that the whole "metrosexual" thing has really caught on...I think men look so much better when they put just a little bit of effort in to their looks. I even have my boyfriend asking to use my tweezers to clean up his eyebrows lol.

All in all, I think tanning in the sun and especially in a bed is just a bad idea. Self tanners are so easy and effective... and you wont look 40 when you're 25. (or 60 when you're 40!).

I've never personally known a male who used a tanning bed. I used a tanning bed once before a cruise. I use self-tanners all summer long and can't remember the last time I had a "real" tan.

I go with Dr. Will's theory. "Pale is the new tan".

I go tanning each yr. before Summer starts Embarassed

I go to a salon where you stand up, never would I lay down in those coffins lol. I do it to get a base before I hit the beaches. I usually do 6 appts. at 10 minutes ea. takes two weeks and I'm good for the Summer.

My grandpa died from skin cancer so I cringe whenever someone says they use them. I get really tan in the summer from the beach (even though I use sunscreen), but going and laying in those death beds does not seem good to me.

I have a t-shirt that says "i may be pale now, but you'll be wrinkled later". Smile. love it. I have a skin disease anyways, so no way would I go lay down in a cancer bed. I have a naturally tanner complexion, it ain't from tanning though Wink

I was a regular at tanning salons years ago. Even at that time there were just as many guys as there were gals. In fact, I used to go with my bf at the time. I don't do that anymore. I have limited unprotected exposure to direct sun in anyway - makes me sound like a vampire! LOL I have seen skin cancer and watched folks go through the treatment - yuckaroo. Also, I have a condition that worsens with sun exposure.

A good self tanner is the holy grail of beauty products. I've tried so many that are always orange or streaky on me. I liked the Bare Escentuals one that you apply with a brush because you see where it goes on, but it took forever to apply. Also the lotions that gradually tan you are good because if you mess up it's not a disaster.

I'll have to try your suggestion Lori.

He went on twitter to squash all the negative press about their relationship and like CH says Brad often has to backtrack and put his foot into his mouth.

Could be. A summer talking to a therapist might not cure all his problems. He freely admitted that he had some.

not odd to me at all - they are looking at houses, houses in Austin are quite expensive, he is making a joke. I can even hear him saying it - I know lots of people who would say that, who are not even remotely broke.

I think humor is sometimes hard to detect on twitter, it is easier for those of us who are not literal. I am rarely literal.

I don't think so, but I don't know the guy. Most of the men I know are not on twitter. They probably wouldn't fair any better than Brad has, lol.
He is a very typical Texas male to me. Just like so many people didn't (and still don't) get Lane's humor, I feel Brad is in the same boat.

No, no no, I didn't take it literally (you better stop accusing me of that) I just wouldn't say it knowing I had a bunch of knuckleheads following me looking for me to say something for them to go off on me about.

I don't know about Brad, but I never knew what a wonky sense of humor I have til I started posting. I often say the exact opposite of what I mean, but it is not even about that literal thing. So much of my humor depends on facial expression, tone of voice, a crazy statement followed by a sly grin. I never realized that before and have to really work at this. and twitter is really hard for me.
this frustrates me to no end.

About Emily and Ricki moving, that probably came from Life & Style and/or US Weekly magazines. E! news did a clip on them the other day, which included a pic of them out and about in Charlotte. The pic was from one of the magazines. Dreamer, on Joker's, posted the clip if anyone wants to watch it.

As far as Brad's humor goes, I know he was kidding about being broke. By him tweeting that, didn't help since there were earlier reports he only did the show because he was broke. He really does need to watch what he says on twitter.

I get Brad and Lane's humor. However, I just don't find them funny.

The men in my life (fiance, dad, brother, uncles, friends, cousins, etc..) were all mostly born and raised in Texas and are nothing like those guys either.

I did have friends just like Brad and Lane from high school though.

I am a proud Texan as well. Which is why I said the men in my life now who were born here are outstanding men. Not at all like Lane or Brad. However, some people think Brad and Lane are wonderful people. Really, it just depends on the guy. Anyone is capable of being disliked no matter what state they live in. There will always be that someone though from high school that continues to act immature. It doesn't mean you don't consider them a friend. I just label them bone heads from time to time.
