I know there are some big Shannon/Derek fans here, but what did you guys think about their confessional last week? Shannon really needs to get a grip and not take the critiques so personal. Derek was right about the judges being inconsistent with their scores, but it was really unprofessional the way he did it, esp. what he said about the other dancers. I think they really might have lost some fans b/c of what happened.
I think Derek, who is normally so laid back, became so defensive because they do have a relationship and he was angry on her behalf. I think the audience realizes he overreacted because of his feelings for Shannon and will give him a pass on his behavior.

Kristy & Mark's total score was 1 point less than Jason & Edyta
That's complete Kristy & Mark were underscored, I mean a 26? I guess next week is when some of our favorite past dancers will be performing.Shannon was pretty good during the Tango but looked pretty awkward during the Mambo. I feel bad for Cristian & Cheryl. I'm not really onto Mario & Karina so I hope they leave. Marissa is improving each week and you can see her gaining confidence. Jason's pretty good but his score of 29 was overrated for his quickstep IMO.

As reported by tmz.com
Spies at "Dancing with the Stars" tell TMZ Cristian de la Fuente suffered a really gnarly injury and will likely pull out of the competition.
The spies say surgery is now a real option. He's set to see a specialist this morning. We're told the producers and dancers will meet at the CBS lot -- where the show is taped -- at 10:00 AM for a status update.

Oh that's too bad. Cristian really reacted to that injury. I honestly thought he was having a heart attack the way he was holding his arm. I wonder how it happened?
Jason was totally overscored last night. The number of perfect scores being handed out by the judges this year is ridiculous. Thank about it - perfection? It takes a whole hell of a lot to be perfect.

Mario and Karina broke up.
Quote:
Mario Lopez and Dancing with the Stars pro dancer Karina Smirnoff have recently split, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
The couple, who met during Dancing’s third season, never publicly acknowledged their relationship despite the fact that the pair were living together in Lopez’s Los Angeles home. A source tells PEOPLE Smirnoff is moving out of Lopez’s digs.
Lopez’s personal rep, Lisa Perkins, says, “It’s my policy to not comment on my client’s personal life.”
Smirnoff, who is now competing on Dancing’s sixth season with R&B star Mario, has been spotted recently with E! Entertainment personality Michael Yo. The two were seen dancing and canoodling at a recent event at Hollywood eatery Beso.
Lopez, meanwhile, is starring in A Chorus Line on Broadway, and recently returned to the ballroom with 18 Chorus Line dancers to tape a synchronized number to air on Dancing’s 100th episode on May 6. He’s also about to embark on a national tour to promote his upcoming book, Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness.

Dancing With the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff denies she has split from Mario Lopez.
“We’re going on strong,” she told PEOPLE on Tuesday. “As much as I love and appreciate the attention, this isn’t true.”
She adds: “For the record, I am not moving out. Everything is great.”
In her production trailer was a bouquet of roses. “These roses are from (Lopez) and they certainly are not a farewell gift,” she says.
The pair, who met during Dancing’s third season, never publicly acknowledged their relationship — until now — despite the fact that they were living together in Lopez’s Los Angeles home.
A source had said Smirnoff was moving out of Lopez’s digs. Smirnoff also was spotted recently with E! Entertainment personality Michael Yo. The two were seen dancing at a recent event at Hollywood eatery Beso.
“Michael and I have known each for a long time, and there’s nothing romantic whatsoever,” Smirnoff says. “He’s a great guy and I really respect him, but we’re just friends.” — Reagan Alexander

Sorry Lori. I think the rant last week probably hurt them.
I'm surprised that Cristian is staying in the competition esp. since he needs surgery. Maybe if the injury gets worse and he pulls out, they'll bring Shannon back.

I thought that Kristy & Mark's two dances were fabulous. From what I understand, the tango is very technical and I thought their positions were lovely - and that jive! Such intricate choreography. (at least to my untrained eye) To me, Marissa and Tony's dances looked nice but had quite simple choreography. Any predictions on who might be voted out?

I believe Cristian and Kristy may be the top two. Marissa should be the one leaving tonight, but it might be Jason. I didn't like Jason's second dance at all, it was so stilted and over scored.

It is getting to the end, who do you all think is going to win? I thought Kristi until Christian got his injury and seems to have the sympathy vote. Hubby said that he thinks that Jason got cut from the Dolphins. If so, I hope he gets on a new WINNING team! What a nice guy.

In my opinion, Christian has really stepped up his performances since his injury. I think he and Cheryl should win. I did not care for them at all until recently. Jason was my favorite, but he does seem a bit stilted. But, he sure is fun to look at, stilted or not!!

After watching tonight's show I will say if Kristi doesn't win, it will be a travesty!
They are really playing up the "Girl Power" angle. I hope it doesn't backfire, because Kristi truly deserves to win. She is by far the best dancer of the three remaining.

I thought that all three couples did a great job but I was really impressed with Kristy & Mark. That free dance of theirs was awesome - such tricky choreography! I feel that they deserve to win based on the difficulty of their dances and their skill and execution but who knows how the voting will go.

I voted for Cristian. I love how he kept plodding on through his injury. I didn't like the judges' attitude that it was a foregone conclusion that Kristi would win. Yes on technical merit alone Kristi should win. I enjoy her dancing, don't get me wrong, but I enjoy the progress displayed by the contestants with no dance experience. I love the underdog!

I agree with this. I enjoyed all the dances tonight, but Jason looks kinda awkward sometimes and Cristian's arm injury did limit his routine. I think the top two will be Kristy & Cristian.

I definitely think Kristy is the best dancer and has been from the beginning. The only problem I have with that is she also came into the competition with a hugh advantage over everyone else. She is sort of a 'Ringer'.

Jason looked good in his freestyle but not in the cha cha cha. JMO! So we'll see, I think any of them winning to me is fine.

I'm with you Lori...Kristi is a better dancer, but as Tru said she came in with an advantage...JMO but I think her training as an iceskater helped her with the dance routines. Nancy might tell us if this is true or not. I also liked how Christian kept on after his arm injury and even did better...Of course his looks doesn't hurt his popularity either. I may be old, but I recognize a hunky man when I see one.

That's true, but don't you think past celebrities have also had an advantage? For example Joey Fatone danced with his boy band, winner Drew Lachey boy band, the same with Mel B., Sabrina danced on her show, Mario Lopez even danced somewhat before, Apollo skated in the Olympics,Kristy does have an advantage as far as being more graceful, holding her hands in the proper position, but just because she can skate and do flips doesn't mean she would be able to do the Pasa Doble, the Fox Trot etc. The discipline of an athlete helps but also has helped others like Emmett Smith, Laila Ali, and this years Jason too. Almost all the celebrities with an athletic background or some kind of dance background have an easier time. The show really needs to go back to it's roots and truly have celebrities without any dance experience. I've heard Paula Abdul may be on next year and she's a dancer/choreographer. By the way this is just my point of view and I'm not trying to change anyone else's opinion.

ITA, FLGAL. Kristy had a big advantage over the others coming in (IMO) and many others have in prior seasons. I also would love to see the show go back to its roots and have contestants without dance (choragraph) experience.
Kristy and Mark absolutely killed the competition thoughtout the entire season. Their Free Style last night was off the charts! I just usually find myself pulling for someone without the advantage coming in.
What I would really like to see is a 'DANCING WITH REALITY STARS' with my favorite girl, Janelle as a contestant. I would send them money to watch each episode if they would do that!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish they would go back to contestants with "minimal" experience in dance. I think it's unfair when they have a dance background. I cannot imagine Paula Abdul on DWTS...the woman was a dancer and a choreographer. So not fair!
