I hope Maks comes back next season. Maybe with someone like Jennifer Lopez as a ringer? lol

Congrats to Jennifer.

I enjoyed watching Kyle this season. Great attitude. Always positive and everytime he went out on the floor you could tell he had a blast!

We all knew she was going to win before the first epsidoe airs. I'm always torn on who deserves it. The best dancer or the most improved. I think this show is about the journey and people like Jennifer, Nicole, Shawn, etc. have a major advantage over the Kyles and Kurts, and Ricks each season.

I agree he was really good and very entertaining. I just could never get behind him because I didn't have a clue who the hell he was Embarassed I was always a fan of Jennifer from Dirty Dancing, so it was natural for me to reconnect with her, and there was no denying the girl could dance.

I always love the ones that improve the most. Not to take anything away from Jennifer, but your right. I knew she was going to win from the start. Watching Kyle grow was more fun to me.

Probably a little more difficult to be a performer who is 50, though, than a teen(Shawn) or twentysomething? thirtysomething? (Nicole). This is just my opinion , because I'm 46, and I'm realizing every day how hard it is sometimes to do what once was easy. But that's my own bias. I get what you're saying, girlmom. It would be interesting if they started with a level non-dance playing field, if that is even possible.

I definitely think that Bristol's "middle finger" comment was low class and totally uncalled for. Her Mom needed to teach her how to be a better politician.

What "middle finger" comment?

I have another comment that I am sure people wont like. How did Bristol and Kyle both manage to stay so chubby with all that dance rehearsing? I am starting to thing my flat screen tv makes people look fat, because nobody ever agrees with me on this stuff.

I am paraphrasing but Bristol said she just wants to give the middle finger to those folks that hate her or her mom.

Gotta learn to be a gracious loser as well as a humble winner.

Maybe Bristol should not have said that but if I was her age and got death threats because I was dancing on a TV show, I might be pissed off. She is reviled by some simply because of who her mother is. That must be so strange. Usually in politics, the kids are left out of the death threats.

Kyle lost weight, actually- 8 inches off of his waist- so he did start pretty chubby! Not sure about Bristol's weight gain or loss- it wasn't ever mentioned that I saw.

I've heard conflicting reports about the "death threats", but that would be distressing for anyone, and I feel for Bristol there- but I think there's something Bristol doesn't understand, and I wish she would. I'm a person that thinks she was outdanced this season by Kurt, Brandy, and Audrina- and would have rather seen them outlast her- but I'm not a "hater". Doesn't make me a "hater". Has zippity-doo-da to do with Sarah P's politics or Bristol's possible political affiliation. I think Bristol was overscored for the last half of the season, and I didn't enjoy it. It's not personal. I simply didn't enjoy watching her any more. And I think that's fair, true, and usual on competition type shows. I hope Bristol learns that. She's young- and she did well, and hopefully she learned a lot. But I really hope she doesn't think she was chronically underscored (some comments by her and mark indicate this) and that she didn't win because of "haterz".

Good post. It's really icky when politics shadows a simple dancing show. I just can't keep my trap shut though...
Bristol has no idea what "haters" are. She should just google "Michelle Obama hate" or "Hillary Clinton hate"
Now there is some real evil hate there.

I just didn't understand what made her a "star". There have been a lot of c list celebs, but have there been other dancers where there only claim to fame has been thu a relative?

Heather Mills. Also I think most people know Ashley Hamilton for his short marriage to Shannen Doherty (and his dad) than they know about stuff he's done on his own.

I never thought about the "relative" aspect of this. I vote no more people being counted as stars because they are related to famous people.
razz

as to the politics, just yuk, what is it about politics that makes people crazy? shooting out tvs, sending powder to unsuspecting, innocent office workers. I would say, "has the world gone crazy", but, lol, I watch the history channel and there were some nuts even during Washington's presidency.
ARRRG

And I am happy that the finals turned out they way they did. But most of all I was happy with how the finalists supported each other and acted like a team.
cheers to you

As to the middle finger remark. lol, I don't like her mother, but I can understand an 18yr old lashing out after all the crap this week.

Overall, it was a lackluster and anti-climactic finale, imo. I think Bristol's last cha-cha was her best dance all season. I'm SO glad she didn't win it all and so bummed that Kyle didn't win.

Like someone else mentioned, I think we all knew Jen Grey would win from the first day the cast was announced. I know I need to get over it, but I can't stop being extremely annoyed that Derek gets all the ringers. Why didn't Mark get paired with Jennifer this year? He is the smallest male dancer and she was the smallest female contestant. Plus, he went out first with Shannen D. last year, so he deserved a good partner this time just like Tony did after Kate G.

Whatever. I'm glad this season is over. Now we can sit back and enjoy the wait until the next cast is announced.... or should I say, the announcement of who Derek's next ringer will be. Rolling Eyes

This season was horrible, but I still want it to come back next season with a new co-host. Did anyone else think Brooke wasn't that good as a co-host?
