OK... There are two promotions that Real Player is doing.

One is the early-bird special which is the banner on the front page and also in the portal.
It is 3 days free, then $29.99 for 3 months.

The other one is the one in the text link in my signature and the text link on the portal.
It is 14 days free, but the price is the regular $39.99 for three months.

If you don't even have Real Player and want it, use the link in the banner ad at the BOTTOM of the portal.
Real Player alone is free.

Ok, I tried both things and it says that I am already an account holder (my email)...but it hasn't been active in like a year. Grrrr Nothing is easy.

OK, I have a few question about Real Player. I signed up yesterday for the three month, $29.99 deal through the banner at the top of the home page here. From what I can see, it's totally web based this year, right?

I'm was trying to figure it out yesterday Cousin. You can watch flashbacks on the player. I haven't used the Real player in so long that I hope you can record video with it and also have an avi format...not what real offers.

I just signed up and I was confused, too! I updated the Realplayer, and it gave me a link to go to the web. So, I went to the help pages and looked it up, and apparently Real is not supporting anything to do with Superpass. You do have to have the Realplayer to download your $10 of songs for the month that come with Superpass, but otherwise, it's completely web based. I considered just deleting my Realplayer, but then I do like the "plus" option that you get with Superpass, so that you can use the better recording values with CD burning. Every year, I usually go through a CD-burning frenzy just before my Superpass is over, so that I have better copies of my MP3's.

I'm still not sure about Superpass being completely web-based functionality. As of now when I select BB Flashback feature it still opens the real player app to run the flashback. I have been expecting this to covert to web-based, but so far its not. Is this the way it works for everyone else? Do you think we are going to need to keep the real player to use the flashback feature?

What happens when I try and use Flashback with FireFox is all of a sudden my computer wigs out and about 100 tabs open and then I have to shut down. That doesn't happen with Safari but I prefer Firefox. So I am still gun shy with Flashback. I bet they will make flash back web based as well. I hope so anyhow.

I use Firefox, too. They just had a huge update this morning, and it even shut down the computer. I hope that whatever that was helped with BB! I haven't even tried the Flashback function yet. I'll give it a try later and see what happens.
