| I think a good idea would be for members to check in and give possibilities about whether or not they could contribute to the show via friends/family overseas. I've seen quite alot of comments directed towards this so why not have a spot where people can post their connections. Kind of a check-in.
Why not exactly? It could be really cool, especially if you have a friend like the one person who (Oh God, don't hate me cause I forgot who you are) who has a friend who runs a charitable school overseas. Which is EXACTLY what the show wants to showcase. Don't be shy. Let's just throw it out there and see what happens.

| I don't know many people directly that live overseas. My sister lived in Israel for 4 years and my best friend's sister lives in New Zealand. But, that is about it. I do have a really good friend studying chimps in Uganda, but she can only use her computer once a week. |

I feel the same way. I was the one with the friend in Paraguay with family that run a school and I just don't know the right way to ask about it. Cause then I have to get into a whole awkward conversation about inner creepers (embrace them, BTW) and reality TV and blah blah blah. I may forward her the video on FB and see if she comes up with the idea herself, but other than that, I don't feel comfortable forcing it on her. |

I'm the same way. My parents live in Ramstein, Germany on an airbase, my aunt and uncle live in Hamburg, Germany, and my sister lives in Izmir, Turkey. I also have a really good friend that lives in Damascus, Syria. My mom would welcome him no questions asked (she watched BB and TAR this last season at my insistance, but would have done it without any idea about who Jeff was), my dad would role his eyes through the phone at me ... my aunt and uncle are always super busy with work so the logistics would be hard to work out... my sister is a little slutty, (okay a lot) so out of respect for Jordan I wouldn't even tell her about it... and my friend in Damascus would probably do it if I asked, so if Jeff is stranded in Syria I can hook him up woth a place to stay.
That's all I've got! My peeps aren't the paying airfare for strangers type |

No, I never lived there. My dad's hometown is Hamburg so I spend a lot of summers as a kid there, and with my parent's living in Ramstein (which is in the south about 40 mins from the French border) I still spend most of my vacation time in Germany. |

If you get the chance you should definitely go. In my opinion, Germany is the PERFECT mix of modernism mixed with old-world charm. Where abouts is your family from? As I said, my dad's family is from the North, and Hamburg is beautiful in the spring, summer, and fall... but it is a coastal city so the winters can be harsh. It's huge, and there is SO much to do. They have an observatory that is out of this world amazing. They show movies in a theatre where the screen is on the ceiling, and your chairs recline to a full laid down position (to mimic laying on the grass looking up at the stars). There Red Light District is completely family friendly, even at night, as long as you stay in the public areas. All the neon lights make it look like a a mini Las Vegas. The harbor is HUGE, and Hamburg definitely embraces its port city status. There are tons of Tall ships and Relic ships that you can board so that you can look around. The Zoo is awesome, they have elephants that will take money out your outstretched hand and then dance for you! There is SO much more, if you ever do go let me know and I'll give you all the details. (Can you tell I love it there lol)
My Mom's family is from Bavaria in the south of Germany. She is from a small town about an hour south of Munich, right on the Austrian border (about a 20 min drive to Salzburg). The views of the Alps and all the lakes is truly breathtaking... and I find it especially beautiful at Christmas time. There is a concentration camp near there (I think it's called Dachau?) that is almost completely intact. It's heartbreaking, but worth the trip... I've been to several former camps, and I never felt the sorrow quite as deeply as I did there. (But I'm going to Auchwitz in October, and something tells me that will be harder to get through).
My parents currently live on an miltary base just over the French border in the Southwest portion of Germany. It's awesome because it is centrally located to alot of Europe, with Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Koln, and Amsterdam only a few hours drive away.
As you can see I'm pretty passionate about my love for Germany, so if you ever have any questions let me know!! |

| I just thought of something now that we know Jeff will be gone until probably November:
I'll be in Germany on and off from Oct. 8th - Oct. 31, but in between there I'll be in Poland, Italy, and Spain... how awesome would it be to run into Jeff? I know it's unlikely, but you never know. I'll totally be following him online to see where he is just in case! |

I hope you get to see him, that would be really cool. Of course just going to Poland, Italy, Spain and Germany is amazing. |

I'm soo excited for Poland. My mom and I are going to see Auchwitz concentration camp, and we're going on a tour of the sites Schindler's List was filmed at.
I've been to Italy a few times, but it's definitely awesome EVERY time!! I've never been to Florence before though, and that's where we're spending the majority of our time, so that will be fun.
I've never been too Spain before, and we haven't made any reservations yet because I can't make up my mind on where I want to go. Does anyone have any suggestions? My sister has been to Mallorca and Ibiza and loved it there, but I kind of want to see Barcelona or Madrid. My mom has only ever been to Seville, and she didn't love it. I talked to a guy who said Marbella is the place to go... I'm so confused. We only have four days to spend there, so I only want to do one general location.
Happy, no problem at all. I am definitely passionate about travelling. I could talk about it all day, and I'd go anywhere I haven't been before in a heartbeat. My goal is to see as much of the world as I possiblity can. |

| blondie - I recommend going to Barcelona. It is the most whimsical, creative, beautiful place. Do you like architecture, food, crazy performers, beautiful night life, museums, history, there is so much to do and see there. Architecture all of over town by Gaudi - La Sagrada Familia. Walking along La Rambla and seeing all the incredible performers, walking through the narrow backstreets and running into crazy dressed up puppets on stilts, running into violinists playing for money outside of beautiful cathedrals, eating paella at the quaint restaurants, and the people are so nice. |

Well, you know Barcelona is right on the coast, the cruises of the Mediterranean leave from there so there are lots of cruise tourists hanging out. But as for beaches, this article link pretty much tells the story the best - yes, there are beaches - it's just which one is best for you?
