| Radaronline link Farrah Fawcett has been hospitalized and is in bad shape, sources close to family and friends tell RadarOnline.com exclusively. She has been battling cancer for three years and recently returned from Germany, where she had experimental stem-cell treatment. Sources told RadarOnline.com that she is critical but stable in a Los Angeles-area hospital. They also say she is unconscious and has been hospitalized for days. Long-time love Ryan O’Neal has been by Farrah’s bedside, as has troubled son Redmond, who bolted from rehab earlier this week. Farrah, 62, was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and later pronounced cancer free at a press conference. It is not known whether she will survive. _________________ Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts

| Farrah Fawcett Asks Fans to Hold on to HopeBy Alex Tresniowski and Champ ClarkUpdatePosted Monday April 06, 2009 05:30 AM EDT Originally posted Saturday April 04, 2009 10:45 PM EDT Farrah Fawcett Photo by: Dimitrios Kambouris / WireImage | Farrah Fawcett's physician and a producer who works with her have released statements about her condition, following the news that the actress, 62, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles since Thursday. Her current treatment is the latest setback in her long battle with cancer, first diagnosed in 2006. "On Farrah Fawcett's behalf, I can confirm that she recently checked into a Los Angeles hospital," the producer, Craig Nevius, says in a statement released to PEOPLE. "And although it is usually against her nature to correct false or exaggerated stories that originate in tabloid-style reports by offering true information that they would not otherwise have to publish, Farrah is allowing this statement out of appreciation for her fans, who have offered their constant support throughout her fight, as well as out of concern for the countless other cancer patients who have written her over the last two-and-a-half years in order to tell her that they are following her story in the hope that there is hope." Speaking early Monday morning, he also said, "Tonight, Farrah has hope, and she hopes that others will continue to hold onto theirs." Fawcett's physician, Lawrence Piro, M.D., who regularly consults with her doctors in Germany (where she sought treatment), issued this statement: "There have been some photographs that have been widely published of Farrah Fawcett in a wheelchair. The reason she was in that wheelchair is because she had a small procedure while in Germany and left for the airport soon after. She could have stayed in Germany to recuperate for a day or two but she was really very anxious to come home." As a result, he said, "she took a nine-hour flight right after that procedure. It turned out that the procedure caused a small amount of bleeding in one of the muscles of her abdomen, making a hematoma, which was quite painful. Actually, it was painful for her to walk, which is why she was in that wheelchair. And that pain, which was coming from the hematoma, had nothing directly to do with the cancer." In Good Spirits Piro emphasized, "She's able to walk. And she remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor. She's been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience." Nevius tells PEOPLE Fawcett is expected to return home in a few days. The iconic Charlie's Angels actress has undergone chemotherapy and aggressive alternative treatments. She saw her cancer go into remission, only to return in May 2007. Fawcett's friend, Alana Stewart, has been spending time at the hospital and was with Fawcett on Sunday night. She told PEOPLE, "Farrah's spirits are amazing. She has been amazing through this whole ordeal." http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20270186,00.html |

| and we may be back to the bad news again Producer Says Fawcett's Cancer Has SpreadPopEater posted: 2 HOURS 48 MINUTES AGO comments: 892 filed under: Movie News, Out Sick, TV News (April 6) -- Just moments after a report claiming that actress Farrah Fawcett was "doing fantastic" despite being hospitalized, now comes word that her cancer has reportedly spread to her liver. A Look at Farrah FawcettFarrah Fawcett has been hospitalized since last week after suffering another setback in her three-year battle with colorectal cancer. The 62-year-old 'Charlie's Angels' star is "doing fantastic" and "not at death's door," friend and producer Craig Nevius told the AP. Fawcett's doctor, Lawrence Piro, said that Fawcett had abdominal bleeding and a "quite painful" hematoma after undergoing aggressive alternative cancer treatments in Germany. She flew back to Los Angeles because she was anxious to come home and is using a wheelchair because the pain makes it difficult to walk. Longtime lover Ryan O'Neal, seen with Fawcett in 2004, is reportedly by her side. Fawcett is best known for playing Jill Munroe in the series 'Charlie's Angels' back in the 1970s. Her undeniable sex appeal helped make the show a gigantic hit and established the actress as the top pin-up model for millions of men (and adolescent boys). It quickly became clear who the top Angel was on the show when it premiered in 1976, though Jaclyn Smith, left, and Kate Jackson were no slouches themselves. Fawcett left the show after only one season, but came back sporadically in later years. She was replaced by the also saucy Cheryl Ladd. The show ran until 1981. Fawcett has always had an idea as to why the show was such a success with viewers. "When the show was number three, I figured it was our acting," she has said. "When it got to be number one, I decided it could only be because none of us wears a bra." The Texas native began doing shampoo commercials and TV guest spots in the early 1970s and eventually caught the eye of producers who cast the unknown beauty in 'Angels.' Her tousled and feathered hair style was "The Rachel" of its time and has been copied by generations. She showed her acting chops -- and garnered one of three Emmy nominations -- for her portrayal as a battered wife in the acclaimed 1984 TV movie 'The Burning Bed.' In 1983, Fawcett made her Off-Broadway debut in the play 'Extremeties' where she played a woman who thwarts a would-be rapist and imprisons him in her fireplace. She went on to star in the 1986 film adaptation. Since her divorce from Lee Majors in 1982, Fawcett has been romantically linked to Ryan O'Neal. Their son, Redmond, was born in 1985 and has long struggled with drug addiction. O'Neal was arrested April 5 outside a jail in California after police found controlled substances in his car during a routine search. He had just finished dropping two friends off at the facility to visit someone. According to TMZ, one of the substances was heroin. Fawcett, who has been battling anal cancer since 2006, has been hospitalized for days. While the details of why she was hospitalized have been spotty, producer Craig Nevius has confirmed that in 2007, scans showed that Fawcett's cancer had spread. "Not only had it recurred, it metastasized to her liver," Nevius told The Associated Press on Monday. Still, Nevius urges that the 'Charlie's Angels' starlet is "not on death's door." "She had a minor procedure. That procedure led to a small amount of bleeding into a muscle in her abdominal wall," according to Fawcett's oncologist, Dr. Lawrence Piro. According to Piro, Fawcett is "on the mend and will be going home very shortly," and that she "remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor." Longtime lover Ryan O'Neal echoes similar sentiments. He told the New York Post that Fawcett was "in for a procedure, she'll be out. This is not at death's door. Pray for her. That's all I can say." MSNBC reported that some friends are less optimistic. "She's a fighter, but we get the sense she knows the end is coming," said one source. "But we're all still praying for a miracle." Fawcett has been fighting rectal cancer since her diagnosis in 2006. Though she was diagnosed free of cancer, the disease has returned. She has recently undergone experimental stem-cell treatment in Germany. Nevius is shooting down reports that Fawcett's Germany treatments had anything to do with stem cells. "It's much more scientific than that. It's not a fringe treatment," Nevius said, adding that Fawcett's doctors have "multiple, multiple degrees." As Fawcett remains hospitalized, her son Redmond O'Neal was arrested on drug charges on Sunday morning. |

| What sent Fawcett to an L.A. hospital a couple of weeks ago? It wasn't her cancer, as early reports claimed, but a hematoma said to have been caused by a medical procedure.
The 62-year-old actress only recently disclosed that her cancer had spread to her liver, a fact she's been living with since 2007. Sadly, Redmond O'Neal, the 24-year-old son she had with ex-boyfriend Ryan O'Neal, was arrested on April 5 for allegedly bringing drugs to prison. He was arrested with his father last year on similar charges.
Meanwhile, our hopes and best wishes are with her. Search has more on what we love about Farrah:
The swimsuit poster: Fawcett opted for a red swimsuit instead of a bikini to hide a childhood scar on her stomach. No matter: The 1976 poster sold more than 12 million copies.
Her hair: That tousled blond mane became the defining hairstyle of the '70s. No wonder she was featured in those Fabergé commercials.
Her cause: Fawcett has long been a supporter of organizations that aid victims of domestic violence. And while she played the role of a battered wife in the 1984 film "The Burning Bed," Fawcett was attacked by then-boyfriend James Orr in 1998 after refusing his marriage proposal. (What happened to him?)
Bonus: Forget the blond jokes — and her strange appearance on "Letterman" from long ago — Fawcett graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Microbiology.
I am sorry to hear about her son's drug issues and I hope Farah makes it through all her treatments. |

I had to look really hard, but I actually see "sex" spelled out in Farrah's hair in her infamous poster! (Thanks to Janelle's#1Fan)! |

| I just saw this article with quotes from Ryan O'Neal about Farrah. It's so sad.......
Ryan O'Neal Shares Sorrow Over Farrah Fawcett's Losing Battle
Farrah Fawcett may be gearing up to show her strength in an NBC special, but Ryan O'Neal is breaking down about his longtime partner's battle with cancer.
"It's a love story," he tells People magazine. "I just don't know how to play this one. I won't know this world without her. Cancer is an insidious enemy."
The actor admits his angel has lost her trademark tresses and her treatment has neared its end.
"She stays in bed now," he says. "The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended."
Those facts may have accounted for son Redmond O'Neal's recent temporary release from prison to see his mother. Despite his visit in a jumpsuit and handcuffs, his struggling mother has been kept in the dark about his latest drug and legal troubles.
"Farrah doesn't know Redmond's in trouble, and Redmond is terrified for his mother. 'I don't want to be in jail and have some guard tell me she is gone,' he said to me. I told him, 'She's rebounding.' I lied to him. I lie to her. It's the best thing," says the elder O'Neal.
The May 15 television special, Farrah's Story, began when the Charlie's Angels star took a handheld camera to the devastating doctor's appointment during which she found out her cancer had returned, friend and producer Alana Stewart tells People.
The two-hour documentary follows the star through personal moments, highs and lows, and several trips to Germany for treatments not available in the United States.
"At about the halfway point in our trips the news started to get darker and darker and darker," O'Neal says. "The hope started to fade. But not for Farrah. She continued fighting. There was always a courage there, and a quiet dignity. Farrah never changed. I fell in love with her all over again because of how she handled this."

| I'm really going to try and watch this Friday if I'm emotionally up to it. Ryan O'Neal: Farrah Fawcett Asked Me 'Am I Gonna Make It?' Monday May 11, 2009 CelebNews@Usmagazine.com! - Ryan O'Neal: Farrah Fawcett Asked Me 'Am I Gonna Make It?' In a new interview with NBC News' Meredith Vieira, Ryan O'Neal opens up about his longtime companion Farrah Fawcett's battle with cancer. Fawcett, 62, was originally diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. After undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, she was declared cancer free by her doctors on Feb. 2, 2007 -- her 60th birthday. But the cancer returned a few months later, spreading to other parts of her body, including her liver. "It's insidious, cancer," O'Neal tells Vieira in the interview, airing Wednesday and Thursday on the Today show. "It lets you think you're ahead." Fawcett thought she was ahead "for a couple of years," O'Neal said. "She was athletic and healthy and hungry and beautiful. Everything was just as you remember about her." See stars who have beat cancer But he realized for the first time that she wasn't well "five or six months ago" -- when their troubled son Redmond "wasn't in jail," he notes -- while the three of them were walking on the beach. "We used to take that walk all the time to the rocks and back," O'Neal says. "And halfway there she stopped and said, 'Can we go back?' And Red and I looked at each other and we knew." See today's top celeb news photos After being by Fawcett's side through it all, O'Neal says he can't describe his love for her. "I know this, that in the last two years I loved her more than I've ever loved her - ever," he says. "She's so much more of a woman ... powerful, courageous, fearless and all those adjectives. And I look at her with awe." See Hollywood's most romantic couples "And she's not afraid, either," O'Neal continues. "I never saw fear at all. She asked me once: Am I gonna make it? She asked me that a couple of weeks ago." "I said, 'Yeah, sure, you'll make it. And if you don't, I'll go with you,'" says O'Neal. "And she said, 'Then stop the Gleevec.' And the Gleevec's the medicine that I take for my leukemia. So she made a joke." Although those close to the couple call O'Neal "the rock," the actor says, "She's the rock. She taught us all how to cope. She's extraordinary. I don't know what I'll do without her, to tell you the truth." On Monday, Fawcett's rep downplayed stories about the actress' illness after O'Neal remarked last week that her treatment "has pretty much ended." The rep told Usmagazine.com, "She never stopped getting treatment." A family source told Us Monday that doctors in Germany -- where Fawcett was treated earlier this year -- are now developing alternative medicines for the actress. Interviewed by Vieira, Fawcett's pal Alana Stewart said the treatments are "very traditional." "They go in through your main artery and they go into the organ and they inject chemo directly into the tumor or tumor," she explained. "You know, into the organ. And [the doctor] has been doing it for 15 years. It's very standard procedure for him to do. They're starting to do it now in trials here. But it's nothing hocus-pocus. They're not crazy, alternative things. They're actually medical things - you know, by medical doctors." Her family remains hopeful. An insider tells Us, "They have not written her off." A new two-hour documentary, Farrah's Story, also airs Friday on NBC. |
