| As freaky as that sex scene was, I wouldn't consider it rape. I keep reading that all over the place and it's getting on my nerves. Remember... Lorena is more powerful than Bill because she's his maker. He can't overpower her unless she allows him to. She enjoyed his brutality because it reminded her of what he used to be -- the monster he was when she first turned him. She even said "I love you" as he twisted her head around.
That said, Bill's actions were pretty savage and animalistic. I understand his aggression towards Lorena, but it speaks volumes about his nature that he would choose to brutalize her in such an ugly, sexual way in particular. |

| Thank you both for your thoughtful explanations. I figured the sexual aggression was simply what vampires do when they are more into their "true selves" than trying to be human. This is still where I am lost, why does it have to be over between Bill and Sookie? She went two seasons without being harmed, what happened to Bill's humanity? Is it because he fed? |

(Written by Kate Barnow & Elisabeth R. Finch; directed by David Petrarca.)
Episode #5: "Trouble" Alcide and Sookie turn to an alpha-wolf "packmaster" for advice on how to deal with Russell's minions. Tara considers a proposal from Franklin, who's completed his mission for Russell; Joe Lee breaks his promise to Sam and Tommy; Lafayette learns the meaning of patience from Jesus, his mother's orderly; Jason meets his match in a mysterious girl named Crystal. Episode #6: "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues" Spurned by Eric, Sookie fears the worst for Bill, whose fate now lies in Lorena's hands. Hard to believe some would call that sex scene rape! As you stated, Lorena is the stronger of the two and she was enjoying every bit of it. I actually didn't find the head twisty thing bad, I had trouble with Bill having a sexual encounter with Lorena at all, icky.

Moody, I hope this answers your questions. Technically, Bill lost his humanity once he became a vampire. He can never go back. In his world, some assimilate becoming a vampire easily while he does not. Bill went through losing his wife and children, knowing he could never be in their lives, only after he entered their human world again. He scared his wife so deeply that he had to glamor her to not remember. His whole way of life and his happy home were lost forever. Plus, all the destruction he caused while trying to be in love with Lorena, the killing of humans and the horrific cruel way he went about it, cemented his inhumanity further. He tried once more with Sookie but the King of Mississippi gave him an ultimatum. He either works for him the King and denounce his allegiance to Queen Sophie or he will kill Sookie. Bill realizes the only way he can keep Sookie safe is to turn her (as King Russell suggested) but he believes Sookie would be vehemently opposed to becoming a vampire. Bill is a little fish in a huge pond of more terrifying and stronger beings than himself. So staying away from what he considers a human life is the only way to keep Sookie safe. |

Oh Lori, you are so cute.
Didn't you love the way Eric flew like a gush of wind? And, just the fact that he fantasizes/dreams of Sookie is nice. My only uncomfortable moment is how they are sucking me back into wanting Bill and Sookie to be together. |

| (EW.com) -- HBO just released the official loglines for "True Blood's" five August episodes and, as per usual, they're pretty damn spoilery. Episode #31: "Hitting the Ground" Debut: Sunday, August 1 "Imperiled by Lorena (Mariana Klaveno), Sookie (Anna Paquin) goes to extremes in her attempt to save Bill (Stephen Moyer) -- with unforeseen consequences. Sam (Sam Trammell) infiltrates a dogfighting ring to extricate Tommy (Marshall Allman) from his parents' (J. Smith Cameron, Cooper Huckabee) greedy influence. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) heads to jail to uncover the truth about Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher); Summer (Melissa Rauch) makes a home-cooked play for Hoyt's (Jim Parrack) affections; Debbie (Brit Morgan) vows revenge on Alcide (Joe Manganiello); Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) uses Hadley (Lindsey Haun) as bait to get information from Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood); Russell (Denis O'Hare) turns his back on the Authority, and on the Magister (Zeljko Ivanek)." | I am so lost with True Blood right now. I need to re-watch the entire season, which means I need to be alone. Having a hard time getting this "alone time" this summer. I tried to watch last night, but daughter came in the room and had to shut it off. It happened to be the Tara biting scene... so violent. |

You have On-Demand, right? Hopefully, by the time you get to be alone the shows will still be available. It is worth the wait.
That scene with Tara and Franklin was really raw and violent. I loved how even though she was fighting for her life, she still thought of Sookie. |

He is twisted. Why does he make me laugh? I must be just as twisted.
I think Sookie can't control her power yet. It gives the producers/writers more to work with. |

| Last night's episode was fantastic! So deliciously campy. Every week it just gets better and better. The opening scene was gripping and that cliffhanger was great.
Tara kicked ass! She had freaky cannibalistic sex, murdered Franklin by bashing his brains in (I doubt he's actually dead), beat the shit out of a werewolf and somehow managed to rescue Sookie. All in a day's work, LoL. Rutina Wesley was in fine form tonight. The escape scene with Tara and Sookie reminded me of Gone with the Wind or something. I loved it.
I loved Eric vs. the Queen. I hope she dies. She really grates on my nerves.
Lorena and Bill's scenes were fascinating -- like Hostel meets Fatal Attraction, LoL. Maria Klaveno impresses me more and more every week. She's a great actress.
LoL @ Arlene begging Jessica not to kill her. "Just so you know, this necklace is made of pure silver." I also got a kick out of the Red Lobster line.
Sam's story finally got interesting. Melinda and Joe Lee forcing Tommy to participate in dog fighting is just... ugh. I hope they get what's coming to them.
Once again, the only story that didn't hold my interest was Jason/Crystal. The actress who plays Crystal looks rode hard and put away wet. Jason could do so much better than her.
The preview for next week's episode gave me goosebumps. Christ almighty. I love when the show fires on all cylinders like this. I wish I could just fast-forward through the next seven days and skip to Sunday. |

| OK, I got caught up and I think I get it. Except... I thought Eric was falling for Sookie and he is acting so cold toward her. Tara being a super freak with Franklin?! What the heck? Crystal... I view her as looking more "inbred"... she is obviously a shifter right? Eric gets hotter by the minute.
It's gotten too bloody and not enough sex for my taste. Will Sookie help Bill survive by letting him feed off her? There appears to be sexual tension between Sookie and that hot wolf guy.. I forgot his name. I thought this was going to be the Eric/Sookie season. |

| I thought this episode was mediocre. Way too much blood, hate some of the plot lines and we were subjected, once again, to that man's filthy dirty disgusting tighty whities (although they were FAR from white, yuck). I hope they pick up the pace next week, get rid of the Crystal story line and we see far less blood. _________________ ![]() |

| The dog fighting stuff was disturbing. Glad that Sam released those dogs. What do you mean Frances, that Bill stole Sookie's light? If that is true I wonder if she will still be able to read minds? Sookie saves Bill, he nearly kills her than he bring her back to life. My head was spinning. Still want more sex and less blood. I hate all the blood though I am starting to get used to it, which doesn't seem like a good thing!
I liked that line about Jason not being smart enough to be depressed too Frances. |

And, I'll miss James Frain's delightful portrayal of Franklin. Last nights episode was mostly boring to me except the scenes between Eric and Sookie. When it comes to Alex Skarsgard I lose my mind...when he kisses Sookie I wish it was me. I'm bad. Only two more episodes left...oh, god...what will I do to occupy my time, so sad.
