posted May 28th

Even though Big Brother 10 is only 47 days away, rumors about Big brother 11th have already began to appear on the internet. While it is true Big brother 9’s winter placement came about because of the writers strike, CBS was also looking to see if Allison Grodner and company could actually produce two seasons per year. Last winter Allison Grodner said there was discussions to have Big brother two times per year and it might not be a one time event.
Today another round of these rumors spread around the net. JokersUpdates claims that “insider sources” have revealed that the planning for a Big Brother 11 - Winter Edition are already underway.
I would like to speculate that CBS could be looking to move Big Brother to it’s sister network - The CW for the winter edition. In recent articles about The CW’s forecast the future looks grim. One report said that the network could possibly go off the air if viewers didn’t tune in. Another article pointed out that The CW’s anchor series (Smallville) is planning to end it’s run next season. Moving Big Brother to the network would guarantee at least 3 to 4 million viewers three nights a week. Or, they could split the show between the two networks. They can air the nomination/food/power of veto competitions on The CW and the eviction show on CBS. Either way, Big Brother on The CW would restrengthen the network.
Another possibility is that the Winter Edition would be produced for GlobeTV to air exclusively in Canada. While unlikely, there have been a slew of online campaigns to local canadian television stations to have their own version of Big Brother

I actually like the winter shows!
I would rather stay in on a cold, snowy night and watch TV ...summer nights are long and warm and there are just too many fun things to do outside the house.
I hope this rumor is true!!
Thanks for posting it, Nancy.

I like the idea of a winter BB. Sometimes summer is so darn hectic with so much stuff going on I have a tendency to miss a show or two (and some feed action). I did much better time wise with the winter edition.

If they do have a 2 show year, then I hope both are equally good, with inventive and creative competitions, not repeats of every single competiton (BB9 had practically every comp from BB8 with some minor tweak), and a well picked cast, not a really bad one just thrown together because of limited time.

And I think the whole splitting the episodes between two stations is really stupid. Who wants to keep flipping channels and have to memorize which day is on what channel? Not me. Keep the show on one network only.

And by having it only broadcast to Canadians, thats just going to lose the American audience, and ratings, not too smart.

Mine doesn't either, CW, and I always wondered why. You'd think it would be included, because it's in the middle of all the other included channels. Maybe CBS has it priced too high???? Hmmm. I may call and find out.

This has nothing to do with the winter version but didn't want to start a new thread:

'Big Brother: After Dark' Returns to Showtime
Friday, June 13, 2008
Yahoo! Buzz
Big Brother 10 is weeks away from its premiere. There are no fans like Big Brother fans, and CBS has obliged them once again: Big Brother After Dark is back for its third season on ShoToo, the Showtime affiliate. The nightly, three-hour broadcast is a essentially a live-feed from the Big Brother house, unedited. Nudity, profanity, heavy alcohol consumption – it's all there. The level of excitement of inside the Big Brother house has everything to do with the cast, of course, and the same thing applies for Big Brother: After Dark. As fans who watch the live internet feeds know, the house guests like to dress up and put on a show during the After Dark hours, knowing that the viewing audience will be larger (and they're going to be on TV). There tends to be a lot of drinking.

Big Brother: After Dark can now be found on the Showtime on line schedule, essentially confirming what all Big Brother fans had hoped for. The series will again air from 12am ET/9pm PT until 3am ET/12am PT. The only problem for many fans is that they don't receive Showtime or ShoToo. If a Big Brother fan is going to make an investment for Big Brother watching outside of the network broadcasts, then the live internet feeds are generally the option of choice.

Personally, I do not have Showtime, so I've only seen After Dark a couple of times. It's a strangely intoxicating piece of television that I'd probably watch more often then I'd really like to if it were available to me. Interestingly, CBS has subtly tailored their casting in recent seasons to take advantage of After Dark, placing contestants prone to nudity and debauchery inside the house. In all likelihood, this practice will continue in the upcoming season.

Another article from Buddy TV:
Big Brother 10 is one month away from premiering. For Big Brother fans, it's going to be a long month. The summer television season, for some, is wholly defined by the Big Brother season. When nothing else strikes an interest, the three hours of Big Brother a week(not to mention the live feeds and the nightly After Dark) is enough to stave off TV boredom until the Fall season hits. The anticipation at this point is mighty high, as the cast list has yet to be revealed. It's always a period of unbridled optimism, the constant hope that CBS casts the perfect mix of house guests. You want smart people, you want wild people you want confrontational people, you want good-looking people, you want respectable villains and likable underdogs. As we approach Big Brother 10, we're going to jump into the way-back machine and take a look at some of our favorite past house guests and how they're currently spending their time. Today, we'll focus on alumni from Big Brother's first three seasons.

Season 1

Eddie McGee: The first ever winner of Big Brother, Eddie is continuing to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He's appeared on a variety of television series, including Mutant X, Guiding Light, and Law & Order. He recently appeared in a season 4 episode of Desperate Housewives, as a wheel-chair bound man who gets into an argument with Gabrielle.

Jamie Kern: The last female standing on Big Brother 1 has succeeded in everything she's been involved in. She received MBA from Columbia Business School in 2004, and promptly began working as an on television news anchor. In 2006, she began work at Portland, Oregon's KPTV network. She left KPTV earlier this year to start her own business.

Season 2

Will Kirby: Dr. Will, perhaps the most infamous Big Brother player of all time, has continued his successful career as a Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon. He appeared with friend Mike Malin once again on Big Brother: All-Stars, and has recently been featured on E!'s Dr. 90210.

Mike Malin: Mike Boogie, as he is known, came back to and won Big Brother: All-Stars, but he's been extremely successful in his own right. He co-owns the Dolce Group, which operates a number of restaurants around the country.

Season 3

Jason Guy: A born-again Christian, Guy has been a public speaker, traveling around the country to give talks on abstinence and other Christian themes. In addition, Jason spent some time after Big Brother working as a casting director for shows such as The Biggest Loser and The Amazing Race. Currently, Guy is a co-anchor on Good Morning Richmond in Richmond, Virginia.

Lisa Donahue: Since her Big Brother victory in season 3, Donahue has continued to pursue a career in acting. She's appeared on Dr. Vegas, Entourage and most recently in the short-lived FOX comedy Unhitched.
