PostSubject: Coney Island Chili Sauce (Low Carb)   January 13th 2008, 2:10 pm

This is a great, slightly-spicier-than-my-usual hot dog sauce, AND it’s low carb. You’d never know it, though. Strangely enough, it seems to keep forever in the fridge. Don't ask me how I know that. Very Happy

Coney Island Chili Sauce (Low Carb)

1 lb. ground beef
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 T. tomato paste
2 T. chili powder
1 t. cumin
1 t. yellow mustard
Salt, to taste
1/8 t. pepper
1 t. Splenda (optional)
Water, as needed

Brown ground beef slowly but thoroughly, breaking it up as finely as possible; drain fat. Stir in all remaining ingredients and enough water to make it saucy; simmer 10-15 minutes. You may need to add more water as it cooks and thickens. Serve over hot dogs or hamburgers.
