PostSubject: Top Chef Boston   September 18th 2014, 4:11 pm

http://www.bravotv.com/top-chef/season-12

Quote :
Bravo Media's Emmy and James Beard Award-winning series Top Chef will premiere its 12th season in Boston on Wednesday, October 15th at 10 pm ET/PT. Returning to the judges table for the new season in New England are head judge Tom Colicchio, judges Gail Simmons, Hugh Acheson, and host Padma Lakshmi. For the first time ever, a Top Chef winner is joining the judging panel. Richard Blais will make his debut as a recurring judge offering the cheftestants guidance from a chef and a former competitor's point of view.

This season features some of the franchise's "hungriest" chefs battling it out against the backdrop of Bean Town's flourishing culinary scene. The chefs will go knife-to-knife at iconic Boston locales including Fenway Park, Plimoth Plantation, and Cheers! Mirroring Boston's own rich history, Season 12 is full of firsts, including the first meal ever served on the field underneath the Green Monster, a challenge using only ingredients that would have been on hand at the first Thanksgiving meal, the first Top Chef food festival and the first fan appreciation challenge where fans of the show were invited to dine inside the Top Chef kitchen. The show will also feature a challenge highlighting Boston's finest from the police and fire departments.

Adding to the firsts for the series, the stakes are higher than ever as Top Chef introduces sudden death Quickfire challenges that will occur without warning throughout the season and a revamped judges table that puts every chef on the spot. The chefs will be tasked with serving up food for top entertainers, culinary stars and celebrity guest judges including: actress Emmy Rossum, Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, MLB Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley, actor George Wendt (Norm from Cheers), Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, Todd English, Barbara Lynch, Jasper White, Ming Tsai, Jacques Pepin, Ken Oringer, and Jamie Bissonette.

The cheftestants will bring out their knives as they battle it out for $125,000 furnished by Healthy Choice, a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the Annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and the title of Top Chef.

Additionally, Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen, the Emmy Award-winning, groundbreaking digital video series hosted by Tom Colicchio, returns for its fourth season. The companion series kicks off with a two-part redemption midseason and continues until part one of the finale. Each week, eliminated cheftestants face-off in a pressure-filled, battle royale to compete for the ultimate prize – redemption and a spot in the Top Chef finale. Fans can follow the Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen challenges on BravoTV.com, as well as join in the social conversation and see what the cheftestants have to say during the competition by following @bravotopchef on Twitter or liking the Top Chef Facebook fan page. The series can be seen on desktop, mobile, and tablet at BravoTV.com, m.BravoTV.com, on BravoNow iPhone and iPad apps, as well as iTunes, Amazon, VOD, and Hulu.

Thanks bergen for the reminder!!

What a talented bunch this season! Richard did a good job as a judge.

This show just keeps on being great - they don't reinvent the wheel - it just works!

Aaron is an ass, but I hope he sticks around a bit. I'm glad that girl didn't take his crap either. I forgot his name.

So far I like the season. And I like that they are all brought to the judge's table at the end.

I'll be happy with whoever wins this season. I like the final 3. Earlier this season, I thought Gregory would win, but now I'm thinking it could be Melissa. She's been kicking ass these last few weeks.

I wonder who will return from LCK.

I don't know why I thought all four would be going to the end.

I really thought Melissa would be one of the 3 in it to win it all.

It sounded like they were all good dishes.

So did I catty. I dont remember them ever dragging out this long when they get to the finale location.
I hope gregory wins. There is just something about people that always look pissed off that irks me. Mai has that look. It's probably why she does so good working with the Voltaggio brothers

OMG they are dragging it out aren't they? I am glad it's in Mexico.

I was surprised no one tried doing mole with the chocolate in the quickfire. Oh and I love mexican hot chocolate. They have an instant one that you can buy at the store and it tastes just as good as if you do the whole process of melting the chocolate in milk or a mixture of milk and water.

Mai does have that don't mess with me face or bitchy face whatever you want to call it.

I also thought it was the finale! Ugh! Mai didn't even smile when she made the top two! Come on girl!

Gregory for the win! I like his enthusiasm - at least Mai has proven she will never be a celebrity chef television star! Ha!

I kind of love that they are in San Miguel de Allende. I've been there!
It was back in 1979 or 1980. It was just starting to be an ex-pat artist community.
The couple we were visiting need us to smuggle in birth control pills!
Another fun part... on the way there, my husband, daughter and I got bumped up to First class.
It was so cool. We couldn't sit together so I was next to a Mexican soap opera star.
Had no idea who she was, but learned over the course of the flight. She was actually Mexican-American so her English was perfect, and she had the biggest makeup bag I'd ever seen. LOL

yes we did. They were a married couple but back then birth control was illegal/unavailable in Mexico ( Catholic country)
We picked up her bc pills at a pharmacy and took them with us.

As soon as I saw, and heard, Tom's reaction to Mei's dessert, I knew she would win.

Gregory's short ribs with mole looked so good. I've only had mole with chicken, so maybe next time it will be short ribs.
