PostSubject: Christmas Movies and Shows   December 7th 2013, 4:38 pm

I am an unashamed retro junkie. I love watching old shows and Christmas is an especially fun time for me. I have watched Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown and I ran across a couple of gems on youtube.

One is a clip of the Little Drummer Boy

Another is the full movie of The Littlest Angel from 1969

Do any of you have some favorites?

I don't really get into the cartoons. I love the old classics like White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. Reminds me of my childhood, I would watch it every Christmas night with my Dad. I still try to watch it every year. It's a Wonderful Life is another classic that I love and another is Miracle on 34th Street (the original with Natalie Wood). A more recent one that I enjoy is The Christmas Shoes, although I have to be in the mood for this one.

Love movies on Hallmark and Lifetime. I also love Christmas Vacation and A Very Brady Christmas. A Christmas Carol with George C Scott is another in our house.

Christmas ain't Christmas for me if I don't watch A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Sim or Reginald Owen. Those are the ones I remember from my childhood, and I still get teary-eyed no matter how
many times I've seen them. My son makes fun of me. LOL

Love "A Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life"...................."'Twas the Night Before Christmas" is my all-time favorite since I was a kid...

Sadly, I don't celebrate Christmas or most any holidays anymore. I cringe when I hear Christmas music or see old movies/shows on TV. I'm not trying to be a downer...I'm just in a weird place in my life right now.

I have comfort movies and shows and at the moment, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of them. Go me, I'm so damn strange.  scared

You're not strange, Frances, just in a bad place for the moment. I've been there, and probably so has just about everyone else at one time or another. But life goes on, and eventually balances out, so times will get better. We're here for you!  Smile
