He sang "Always Be My Baby" and got rave reviews from all the judges. Both Randy and Paula gave him standing o's.

Dialidol didn't even have Kristy in the bottom 3, much less leaving, but i don't think it was a big shocker. I do think Brooke had the worse night of the two though.

Votefortheworst had KLC as their pet this yr, so maybe that helped her stay so long. She also had been making some smart song choices the past couple weeks that would appeal to her particular audience.

Next week's theme....Andrew Lloyd Weber? Broadway, right?

FLGAL, coulda, woulda, shoulda . . . eh? I'm sure he'll be kicking himself, later.

P.S. You might want to copy and paste your post over to the Survivor thread, so others see it, too.

Kristy Lee Shows Off Engagement Ring

Even though she was given the boot from "American Idol," Kristy Lee Cook has plenty of reasons to celebrate, including her recent marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Andy Dobner.

The recently eliminated 24-year-old was presented with a ring last month but preferred to keep it a secret because "I just wanted to be focused on Idol," Cook said.

It looks like the focusing didn't really pay off and Cook herself revealed she was shocked to be the one leaving the talent show Wednesday night.

"I was kind of upset that I went home because I thought I was getting stronger and stronger," said Cook, whose goal was to make it among the final five. "I thought ["Forever"] was my best performance so far. I thought I had at least another week in me."

However, Cook wasn’t given much time to mourn her exit because on the same night she was voted off, Dobner surprised her with a second proposal, this time on TV.

Dropping to his knee, a move he skipped the first time out in the sauna, Dobner asked Cook to marry him.

"He owed it to me," she said.

Her ring, a marquis cut, has "quite a few diamonds on it," the singer told reporters Thursday. "We kind of picked it out together a long time ago just kind of for fun, shopping around for a ring."

There's no wedding date yet, although Cook guessed she might walk down the aisle in June 2009. And she more than guessed that she might invite the Idol judges, Cowell included.

"Oh, yes, of course I would," Cook said. "I definitely would."

According to People, the two were introduced by a common friend while Cook was waiting tables at an Italian restaurant in Grants Pass, Oregon.

"He had just been in the woods chopping down Christmas trees," Cook was quoted by People as saying. "He came down [to the restaurant] and he was so cute, and he sat down in a booth and when I was walking off all the girls caught him double looking at me hanging out of the booth! And I was like, ‘Hey, you know I need a Christmas tree,’ and he said, ‘Well, I’ll take you up and we’ll go.’ So, I gave him my number and he called me up 20 minutes later while I was at work and said, ‘You want to do something tomorrow?’"

Anyone catch Jay Leno, last night? He brought Michael out on stage, saying he felt bad about the way Michael was eliminated. Then, who should come on stage but Gene Simmons. Jay introduced him as "an unpaid idol" or something like that. Then, Jay and Gene -- with Michael between them and with Gene's arm around his shoulder did some funny back and forth banter that had everyone laughing. They ended with Gene singing "___" (can't remember, something about rock and roll), again with his arm around Michael, bringing him into the song, with the whole audience singing along. I'll tell ya. It was really a neat thing to watch. Doing that for Michael felt pretty special. I'm sure it's something he'll never forget. Very Happy

She did. She was playing the piano and she stopped on the first or second note and restarted. At the time Paula praised her for doing that.

I really like David Cook, too. He seems so grateful for being there, not cocky at all. I think that makes him attractive to me. Very Happy The girls just don't impress me that much this year. Brooke always has an excuse and talks back to the judges. And while Carly has a really strong voice it seems kind of screechy to me.

David and David are my favs.

I find him sexy, more so when he sings. lol
He is also smart and a little geeky. I like that.
I didn't relaize it until I read an article about him on MSNBC. He was just the back-up singer and musician, not the lead singer in the bands he played with.

Carly screeches and shouts her songs to me. David A sounds the same on every damn song. He's good, but he bores me.

Did you see Randy Jackson on Ellen, yesterday? I rarely watch that show, but just happened to catch it. He's predicting a David vs. David final.

David A. is boring! The girls are are not good at all. I like Jason Castro (I have to he went to Texas A&M), no, but I really do like him. Jason is not right for this show, his music is too different. But, David Cook is all that and a bag of chips. But, just like Daughtry, he might be better off not making it all the way to the finals. I can't wait for his first CD.

They didn't do a bottom three tonight so she very well could have been. The bottom two - Carly and Seyesha - did very well last night. I agree with Randy that is going to be a David-David final.

Two songs each tonight. They're really rushing it along. I don't like that the judges aren't commenting until after their 2nd song, b/c by then i won't remember how they sounded the first time.

Ryan said they would sing 2 songs and then the judges would critique them at the end of the 2 songs.

When they all finished their first song, Ryan brought them all on stage and told the judges to quickly make a comment on their first song. Paula proceeds to talk about Jasons first song and second song (which he hadn't yet sung).
